Parents are a child’s first and most important teachers. We consider it a privilege to collaborate with parents to lay a solid foundation of faith in their children’s lives.
We actively encourage parents to engage in meaningful conversations about Jesus within the home and discover ways for their families to serve together here at Southside.
We provide two attended nurseries catering to children aged 0-12 months and 12-24 months. Rest assured, your little ones are in capable hands, allowing you to fully engage in worship and Bible classes with peace of mind. In our attended nurseries, children have the opportunity to make new friends, sing, pray, and discover the teachings of Jesus in an age-appropriate manner.
We also have a private, nursing mother’s room equipped with a live stream of worship.
Just before the sermon, we invite children aged 3 through Kindergarten to Children’s Worship, where we present an age-targeted Bible lesson. Children’s Worship is dismissed after worship.
Sunday Bible classes are tailored for all ages. We follow the comprehensive Gospel Project for Kids curriculum, providing an in-depth study of the entire Bible. It is a unique journey where, by following this program through 5th grade, a student will have delved into the rich teachings of the Bible three times over.

Bible classes and enrichment activities are offered at different times throughout the year. Children also are encouraged to join their families and friends in ministry.
Southside Kids thrives on the dedicated efforts of a passionate team of helpers. If you have a heart for children and a desire to make a positive impact, we invite you to consider joining our team.
Our helpers play crucial roles as teachers, teacher aides, greeters, hall monitors, nursery helpers, and more. Whether you have a specific skill set or a general willingness to contribute, there is a meaningful role for everyone.
Safety is a top priority, and we take it seriously. To ensure a secure environment, we require all helpers to undergo an application process, including a background check through Ministry Safe. Regular completion of Ministry Safe training and active participation in Southside Kids ministry training are integral components of our commitment to maintaining a safe and nurturing space for all children.
Tiffany Borchardt has served as our Children’s Minister since Fall 2023. She is a Texas A&M graduate and former school teacher. Tiffany is married to Nelson and is a mom to Addie and Wesley.
