Our annual Day of Hope is right around the corner on March 16. This spring outreach event started several years ago, as a way to bring hope to our neighborhood and city. The concept is simple: we provide free food and games for children, and then people tell stories of hope. The goal is that people will come, grab a plate of good food, and sit down to hear a story of hope. Over the years around 300-400 people gather for this fun event.
Here are some highlights for this year’s Day of HOPE:

The main speaker this year is James Loy, a man who grew up as an orphan, fell into drug addiction, and now is a key leader in central Arkansas restoring men and women out of addiction through Christ through Renewal Ranch. Also, representatives from area churches will be coming early to door-knock the area to invite people to the Day of Hope and the Crusade for Christ this summer.

You never know who might be impacted or touched by this day. I am so thankful that Steve Squyres wandered into our Day of Hope a few years back. It was his first step for God to begin restoring in his life. It could be that one of our neighbors comes on March 16 looking for the hope of the Lord.
